Window Wonderland Contest!
We were given the opportunity to decorate a vacant storefront window in Downtown Fredericksburg, as part of the "Window Wonderland" contest! Business's and non-profits, such as ourselves, were able to win up to $500 for the best decorated window and we won in the non-profit category! Thank you to everyone who voted for our window display!
Explore it! Counting Contest!
In conjunction with the Window Wonderland contest, we held a contest of our own! The Explore it! Children's Museum Counting Contest! Participants had to count how many magnifying glasses were in and on the windows.
If they counted correctly they were entered to win a $50 gift certificate, generously donated by Jabberwocky Books and Toys!
We had many people who correctly counted the 37 magnifying glasses in the display! We would like to congratulate Kristin McKnight as the winner of the Jabberwocky gift certificate! Thanks to everyone who participated!

 We debuted our first traveling exhibit "Amazing Magnets" at theMulticultural Fair and it was a big success! As part of our "Museum on the Go" program, we were able to educate and entertain hundredsof children and their families about the amazing abilities of magnets! We thank all of you who came out and took part in it!
We would like to thank Dr. George Meadows from the College of Education at the University of Mary Washington for helping us out. He was kind enough to share his Robotic Arm and bring his collection of Brushbot's for the children to create their own food coloring art masterpieces! He also created the magnet hockey board that was quite popular!
